After publishing my first book, ready to heal, women who identified with mother r sought my support. Untreated mother hunger craves a quick fix for the empty hole lurking inside motherless daughters. Enduring hope creates a pathological fantasy that keeps women trapped in cycles of disappointment and grief. Decision making is based on external pressures rather than internal values. Substitutes are needed in childhood. Surrigant mothers may look a lot like cake, ice cream or fairy tales but eventually vodka, drugs or hasty head over heels relationships take their place at all stages of life.
