The US military is facing its greatest recruitment crisis in 15 years. Last year, the army missed its recruiting mark by 15,000 soldiers. Army recruiting is aimed squarely at the middle class. The primary reason is that recruiters think those people are gonna be able to pass a vocational aptitude test.
