Last year, Idaho and its army of volunteers fan the state gathering signatures for a measure that would have increased school funding by $300 million a year. "We talked to just an enormous percentage of the overall population about public schools," he says. We did not see evidence of people giving up on public education or desiring to opt out,. certainly not desiring to defund or dismantle public schools.
