Human Occupation in the Middle Nile
Evidence of human occupation stretches back to at least 600 thousand years ago. During humid periods, much of what's now the sahara became green corridors filled with lakes and rivers. People could follow those green corridors into the nile valley and beyond through the sinai and into arabia. At other times, thesahara ex ded becomes even larger and more hostile than it is now.
