The Importance of Respecting Others' Rights

We say social impact is about promoting well-being, but we also add without sacrificing anything that might be of comparable moral importance. Many moral views that were widely held in the past are regarded as flawed or even abhorrent today. We think everyone has reason to be morally uncertain and so support these principles. Our definition shares an emphasis on well-being and impartiality, but we depart from utilitarianism in three important ways.
