Addressing Infrastructure Challenges in East Hampton Village

Not everyone likes flower baskets hanging from the lampposts in East Hampton Village. Not everyone likes banners promoting coming Village events. Community events in Herrick Park? Santa arriving by helicopter? Not everyone is into it. Jerry Larsen, East Hampton Village mayor for the past three years, understands that. And, for the most part, he's ok with it. Because he feels most people appreciate the changes he and his administration have made in the Village, and that those changes have, by and large, made Village life a little better (he'll know for sure next year, as he's up for re-election!). All this is not to say that those people aren't entitled to their views, and that he doesn't listen to and respect those views. He just doesn't let the complaints of the few outweigh the approval of many more. It was truly an honor to have Mayor Larsen join me in the Cafe, and discuss not only some of the changes he and his administration have brought about, but what challenges remain, and how he intends to go about tackling them.
