What Patterns of Social Trust Do We Find?

In the United States, we've seen a drop from a quite high level of trust in around 1960 where around 60% or so trusted other people in general. Then on the other end, my home country, as you were mentioning in your introduction, we basically saw the exact opposite pattern. So now it's something around 40 to 45% trusting others, which is actually on a global or European scale, a fairly high number. And then on a global scale, a country like Brazil, for example, has very high, very low levels of trust,. same for the Philippines.
