The Role of Non-Gens in Gene Expression
It is possible to have genes overlap and share sequences. There are also many parts of DNA that don't correspond with a gene at all. It's often surprising to non-biologists how little of our DNA is actually made into proteins. The evidence that we have is that a large amount of it does not have a sequence specific function.
