The Dedication of a Book by William McGovern
Janet Stewart Blair Montgomery McGovern, born in 1874, graduated from shorter college in Georgia and worked as a journalist. She married Felix Daniel McGovern, 1873 to 1934, a journalist and later an army officer, but divorced after William was born. In 1922, the year among the headhunters of Formosa was published, William received his doctorate and embarked on a lengthy expedition to Forbidden Tibet. He disguised himself as a Tibetan and managed to sneak into the sacred city of Lhasa,. An adventure recounted in To Lhasa in Disguise, a secret expedition through mysterious Tibet, published in 1924.
