john billington refused to serve in the local militia, which i think they count as america's first crime. He was apparently not much of a team player. His whole family just caused headache after a headache for the puritans in plymouth colony. Even on the way over on the mayflower, a one of his sons started firing his father's gun with an open keg of black powder.
