The Importance of Bad Philosophy

Bad philosophy undergirds so much that is bad in politics or bad in broader education. It actively prevents knowledge from being produced, not least because there's a chilling effect on the very act of criticism. These philosophies have at their heart certain modes of thinking which prevent people from criticizing them. They're proliferating across social media and informing the world view of many, many people including political leaders and others who work in government and hold positions of power. We need to take a step back before the present moment and discover whether we can resolve our differences through philosophical debate.
