The Importance of Discharge Plans for a Client in Residential Aged Care
A social worker was asked to discharge a client who had been in trouble with the law. The psychiatrist said that if she could come up with two things it would solve his problems. She came up with an idea for him to be able to live at the shop where he used to work. A group of young ethnic men ran the shop and they were quite happy to let him use their address. They also hid his Vesps scooter, which he rode around on the opposite side of the road. Her story struck a chord with her about how we are constantly trying to have the perfect life.
