The Forks of the Renaissance

Forks gained some popularity in byzantium, which then became constantinople in the eleventh century. But when a byzantiun princess married a venetian leader, she brought a fork with her and things did not go well. The world of venice was aghast. Because the forks of those days had two prongs, which looked like satanic horns. Unfortunately for the poor princess, she fell very ill and died shortly. So that was proof that she was consorting with the devil. And then the fork prety much disappeared for a few more centuries.
