His ideas weren't accepted in his lifetime. He died about four years later and there was a 33 word of victory in the Lancet, the prestigious medical journal. Epidemiologists have worked out that a large number of people that had the disease early on had been at the market. And so that's a very likely point at which it jumped over from animals to human. But still, we're not 100% certain that that's the case. It's just this circumstantial evidence.
