Lung ultrasound is incredibly interesting and I think that in the realm of pediatric pneumonia we're probably still pretty early in figuring out how it fits into a diagnostic algorithm. There was some evidence starting to build about the use of procalcitonin to predict bacterial pneumonia and kids. It's probably not good enough to get on its own in order to help you decide whether or not your child should be treated with antibiotics. Chris: Are there other thoughts in this kind of diagnostic work up in the clinic or in the ED that can help point to a pneumonia?
