Elizabeth Copan was sent to a laundry at Peacock Lane when she was 14. She tried to escape in 1966 but was caught and taken back into custody. When she got there they gave her a new name - The Good Shepherd at Sunday's Well. Elizabeth wouldn't answer to her new name, she hated it because it was the name of the nun who took her to her first laundry as a child. Eventually moved to a third laundry called Waterford where she found happiness. A priest would come and host a party for the women and girls once a month. It was her first experience of happiness.
