New Liberalism and a Global Scale

In the 1980s, as we now know, in 1990s, we're deeply neoliberal. They exported that neoliberal policy package to the rest of the world by imposition. So this was a new floor of colonialism. And the West imposed on the global south, not just in Asia, but in Latin America, in Africa. Any of the developing countries that really needed assistance had to embrace neoliberal principles in order to get their much needed loans. The perfect example of that is China and India. It was the policy of liberal capitalism with Chinese characteristics.
