Complex Systems: A Surprising View
When you have a central control, then you want none of these other things. You don't want any disorder. You just want your controlling orders to come through to the elements and for them to just do what it says. And that's whatever it is they need to do, comes back to you and you decide what's going to happen next. But when we're looking at complex systems, they're essentially bottom up controlled, distributed control. They're because of the interactions. They're locally generated. Then they produce this coherence, if you want to use that word or organized behavior that come out the top.
