The Unknown Flying Objects of the Mid-1940s

An alternate explanation for all the UFO sightings since the mid-1940s would be that these sightings reflect public anxiety about the atomic bomb and its development. It's possible the reason unidentified flying objects are often spotted near military bases is because this is where new aircraft are tested. The sheer number of reports from former military officials of strange lights, UFOs, or disabled nuclear silos are too numerous to ignore.
