Humans Are Made in the Image and Likeness of God

Caleb frank vi emil: If humans are only different than animals in kind, then why should we prefer human life over animal life in our moral judgments? Jimmy akins's perspective is that while humans are made in the image and likeness of god, this does not set them apart from animals, except perhaps by degree. The verse says humans ar are, but does not say animals are not.
