I think one of the very strong things about the way you write the book is that the horrors turn up, kind of not like sensations. I mean, she has left one man to live with shock, the taxi driver. So she has already done something, which I suppose is rather out of place at that time. And then shock is not just writing his taxi. He's writing a lot of other women too.
