Is There a New Ocean Forming in Africa?

There are claims that there is a new ocean forming in africa because of an earthquake in the afar region. There have been earthquakes in this region, yes, but er no such thing as happening. The east african rift valley apparently played a sign and roll in human evolution. It's something that's apparently quite a con sequential to human history.
