Student Agency in Collaborative Projects

Student agency is a key priority in the street data approach, which we explored in episode one 78 with authors shain sefir and jamila dugan. In other words, helping students learn how they can take action to improve their own lives and the lives of others. Adding opportunities for students to practise agency in your collaborative projects is another way for you to teach not just academic facts and skills, but what students can do with those facts and skills in their real lives. The examples i'm going to share here may or may not contain equal amounts of criticality and agency. They were not submitted to me with those ideas in mind.
