Caleb, the one of the two sons winds up struggling with over the back half of the book. He is a little wick a boy, plays pranks on his brother Aaron because everybody loves Aaron more. Lee in particular puts forward this like thesis that you can choose not to be wicked. You can choose to look a failing or a sin in the eye and then learn from it and grow,. etc.
