The Importance of Dickens

I kept having to remind myself that there was no novel when Burton was writing them. No novel as a form Didn't really exist. I'm always struck by he's He's writing something that it's clearly he wouldn't consider it as being made up But that sort of baggy he obviously liked bocaccia. There's another bit where he said he was he was dried out from chamber work Which is a chamber work being a euphemism for sex Yeah, Dickens reminds me of him but Dickens as a conductor of this extraordinary energy.
