The Snake Is the Sign of the Goddess
In many prehistoric cultures that the snake is the sign of the goddess and so they represented the snake as Satan as something evil. It just kind of broke my heart and really I thought about that for days afterwards but it was interesting too that the symbol pops up elsewhere in the bible where it has retained its original meaning like when Moses holds up the serp the serpent on the staff to heal Israel.
