The Origin of the Cinematic Multi Verse

The idea that most people have from watching too many movies has absolutely nothing to do with science at all. What i'd like to think of as the origin of the cinematic multi verse is actually a more philosophical idea of what we call the set of all possible worlds. People have been writing alternative histories and future histories for a long time. They don't care about the laws of physics and the equations predicting what will happen. They just want to invoke some different possibilities and let it ri youow, let let the different people in the different circumstances talk to each other.
