CHAPTER

The Role of Stretching in Strength and Conditioning

It's such a common belief amongst runners that stretching is endowed with these magical powers. And I honestly rarely prescribe a stretch to any runner that presents. The reason for that is injury is normally typically occur because of training errors. It outstrips the body's capacity or strength and therefore, someone gets an injury. But if people ask, they've got a foam roller, we often hear that. Should you foam roll? If it's active tendon condition where you're going to compress, attend and irritate it, if you want to stretch, you can. but please make sure you get your strength and conditioning done as a priority ahead of any stretching or foam rolling.
