I've never seen a good argument as to why that's the most effective way to pull the bar off the ground. I have seen, this is the way we do it. And then somehow they kind of do some mental gymnastics to explain it in a way that maybe appeals to people that don't n better. But ihave never seen any good explanation from the other side about why the bar needs to be lined up over the the metal tarsal philange joint,. right that toe knuckle, which is further forward, a mid foot.
