There's a literal translation of the Emerald tablets by Blavatsky. The root of alchemy comes from ancient Egypt, because you know, alchem, that means the black fertile soil of the Nile River. Thoth or Hermes Trismegistus came down to mankind and said, here's the Emerald tablets. And supposedly it was a real document.
