The Importance of Probation

Judge C. of Rella was very open about how severe he could be in his rulings. He told one journalist, quote, my experience has been if you bring a child in who broke the law and put them on probation, chances are he'll be back in the system in a short period of time. If a child believes the consequence will be anything other than placement, they don't care. I have to find consequences that will get their attention.
