I think Charlotte Perkins Gellman deserves so much credit for that this is, you know, although it might be natural for us today to say, well, if they cut off people's creativity. But I don't think she was surrounded by people who thought that and I don’t think the narrator was either. And their prescription for helping her feel better was not only to deny that she was sick and well, but was to basically lock her up in a room with bars. It would have been nice if they trusted her and listened to her.
