The Role of Active Inference in Sensory Phenomenology
Active inference is something that organisms do, but it's not the technique used to measure the sensory data. So you can think of the active inference framework as this mathematical theoretical apparatus we're applying to biological systems to understand them. For example, it's a theory of active sampling of the world. It's just like this tie between the entity acting within the environment, taking sensory input, I try to understand or identify what's causing what.
