What Can We Learn From the United States?
The prison population in the united states since 19 70, has exploded. It it's gone up over 700 %. The first step act did try to shorten sentences by rolling back some of the harsher mandatory minimums that had been such a key part of driving up the population in the first place. We're like, am we've maybe reached the peak with mass incarceration,. and there's an opportunity o push through further.
