The Symbolic Manifestation of God

I think one mistake that people do is that they kind of confuse the symbolic manifestation that icons depict and the person that is being depicted in the icon as well. There's a reason why Christ can be depicted because he's circumscribed in this humanity. In the same way when we depict, for example, Saint Paul, it doesn't have to necessarily look like Saint Paul. And so it depends on the distinction between nature and person and also energies. All of these will be examples of the manifestation of God in the proper mode in accordance with theperson that is being manifested within the energies.
