The Transformation of Brewing

In 1300 women's work was low status, not very profitable and poorly remunerated. But in 1600 men are brewing - it's a high status trade, women aren't doing it. So what remains the same across that change is that women's work is generally low status, low skilled and poorly paid. And I think that that's enduring continuity in women's history.
