We've basically come to consensus in ninety per cent of what society should be, yet it feels like we're absolutely diametrically opposed as to what it is. And we're fighting on the margins for things that maybe don't matter as much. Im going to defend conservatism a little bit here. God my simple point is that the one virtue of conservatism is something it doesn't try and shoe horn the answer to every question into a pre existing mental framework. It's capable of adopting different frames and points of view in a way that dogmatic left wing opinions aren't.
