The Pharaoh of Moses

The first Pharaoh that enacted the genocide died while Moses was out, you know, being a shepherd for 40 years. So it's important to note that the portrait of Pharaoh is someone who is so committed to the well-being of his empire at the expense of the lives and health of this immigrant population. In a way, God is giving Pharaoh something that Pharaoh never gave to Israel, which was the chance for this all to be over. And Pharaoh stubbornly refuses 10 times over.
