Ukrainian Counter Offensive: Why They Didn't Announce It

The last time there was a Ukrainian counter offensive was it began last September and I remember when that happened talking to people in the Pentagon. There's two strategic things one is Ukraine wants to keep everything under lock and key in order to preserve an element of surprise. And so even we didn't know what they were up to, right? The Ukrainians want to do something Big to collapse the Russian occupation of the south maybe cut off the land bridge connecting Crimea to Ukraine can they do that?
