The federal immigration programme is just that, a federal government programme. It's like farm subsidies or small business loans, or the air force. And sometimes it may be bigger, sometimes it should be smaller. That's what the debate should be about - not sort of in these apocalyptic moral terms where anybody who critiques it is an evil.
