The Effects of Rationing in the Local Village Labor Market
In an experiment, researchers in India offered jobs to people outside of the village. They found that if there was no rationing, then employers would have to hire more workers and wages would go up. But if there was rationing, they saw a huge drop in employment levels. The theory behind it is based on what's called revealed preference measure.
