What Is Faith and How Do We Grow in It?

What exactly is faith and how do we mature in it as apprentices of jesus? Faith, contrary to popular opinion, is not a blind leap into the dark. The opposite of faith is not knowledge, it is sight. It's not believing something for which there is no evidence, but believing something based on evidence and living as if it is true. We need faith to navigate ordinary life. You can be here this morning as a atheist, or a darwinian materialist to the core, a buddhist with no concept of a personalized god. You are living by faith, just as i am living by faith because it is impossible not to.
