I love the Alfred Sloan story of the meeting at which he looked around at his board and said, gentlemen, I take a role in agreement on this and they all nodded. And he said, I propose we adjourn for a while to develop some disagreement and understand what this topic really is all about. That takes courage as leadership to actually develop disagreement and figure out if it can help you achieve any insight to make a better decision.
