In terms of our psychology, we're much more sensitive to bad things in our life than good things. Fear and even loathing like these are very strong emotions, and they do change our behaviour ly and noticeably. So if you shout at someone to stop doing something, you tend to get an immediate response. And so this is, i think, one of the reasons why there's a lot of punishment in leadership and in parenting.
