Capital Account Convertibility in India
India's capital mobility framework and especially capital account convertibility, was still a regime that was worked upon during a different time. The Tharapur committee's recommendation on some of the fundamentals that need to be fulfilled before you can introduce capital account convertible should not be grown. In a sense, what we should do in terms of capital account convertibles is move to another stage of liberalization as far as industrial units are concerned.
