Is There a Sublinear Economy of Scale?
Regent: I've read that populations tend to exhibit some self-regulating effect when they reach a certain size or density in an area. Is that related to this? Well, that's an interesting question. There are some in biological systems. The answer is generally yes, and it's sort of related to this sublinear economy of scale, scaling, and metabolic rate. Regent: Most land animals, like us, stop growing, and spend most of our life in this sort of better stable state that we're in.
