The Role of Women in Bletchley Park

The majority of Bletchley Park's codebreakers were women. The UK government took teenage girls straight out of school and stuck them into one of the armed forces typically the Rens, Army or Air Force. There were literally thousands of these 'cobrakers' who did routine jobs like typing intercepted messages into type X machines rigged to behave like Enigma machines.
