The Future of Artificial General Intelligence

With deep learning specifically there's a lot of optimism out there right now even in the AI community people thinking that perhaps well I think everyone agrees some major steps forward have been taken. Is it just a few more steps till we get to AGI is the difficult question where do you think we are on that path? I agree that there were breakthroughs but I think on this path we are still far away from AGI.
