Khaled Ibn Walid and the 30 Camels
Khaled Ibn Walid and his 10,000 soldiers were trying to make their way over 500 miles of desert. They had several hundred miles to travel before reaching Abu Arbada and the others in Syria. Khalid asked a villager for advice on how he could get across the desert. He needed to get 30 camels and keep them thirsty for about 7 days. Once they were sufficiently thirsty, they were to be allowed to drink the camels that is. The plan with the camels only got Khalid and his army through the first two stages of the journey.
