The Intellectual History of Ideas, by Travis Twiss

The historian has always worked on questions around the intellectual history of empire. He found it difficult to explain change, and this became particularly a focus for him when he stumbled across Travis Twiss in his last book about ideas of property. This man was an ecclesiastical lawyer who had previously provided legal justification for the Congo Free State. It's very much a pure intellectual historian, but I felt always a certain way of weakness in my own approach to the subject of understanding the history of ideas.
